The Sock Bun

My hair isn't exactly long and I long for the obnoxious top knot look. I discovered the easiest weirdest way to perfect it and it works beautifully on long hair too. Did you really think all those ladies have gigantic beautiful top knots all on their own? No way!

Step 1: Find a sock. Preferably clean and the closest color to your hair. I use a black sock. Depending on your hair length and thickness, chose the appropriate thickness of a sock. I used a fairly thin sock because I have thin hair.

Step 2: Cut the sock off at the ankle. You'll be left with the top part that probably resembles a leg warmer.

Step 3: Roll the aforementioned part of the sock inward. Creating a donut like structure.

Step 4: Put your hair into a pony tail and tease the pony tail.

Step 5: If your hair is long, you should put the "sock donut" at the end of your pony tail and roll upward.

If your hair is short, that is not possible! For short hair, wrap the "sock donut" around your pony tail holder like a weird 90's scrunchy and fold your hair down and around the "sock donut".

Make sure no visible pieces of the "sock donut" are showing and secure with an elastic.

VOILA! A Gigantically beautiful bun without the luscious locks or extreme hair skills.
