I am a big fan of consignment shopping. Thrifting is my favorite, but sometimes you need something special for an event, party, etc. and want to get something a little "higher end" without breaking the bank. Plato's Closet is great and sometimes I find some really great items there. Typically, however, they cater more toward younger shoppers and sometimes you need something more "adult", say for a work event or something of that sort.
As much as I'd love to venture into Nordstrom or Sak's when I'm looking for something for a particular event, that doesn't always fit the budget. Gerri's Closet in Green is a nice consignment shop with friendly employees a large selection, and free coffee :)
I have found all sorts of great brands there from Ann Taylor Loft to bebe to Anthropologie. They even have their high-end brands set aside to make browsing that section easier. My stepmom got the most beautiful vintage berkin bag there and they usually have a good selection of high end purses and bags. She has some nice home-wares too.
I'll be going with my stepmom (she's a friend of Gerri's) tonight for their preview of Holiday Merchandise. If you're ever in the area, stop in and check it out.
