Akron-area Bloggers Attend Taste of Vintage Event

A few weeks ago, a few of us Akron-area Bloggers were invited to attend the 6th annual Goodwill Industries of Akron Taste of Vintage Event. The event was held at Quaker Station in Akron and according to the Goodwill's Website, broke records for the number of participating restaurants, attendees and auction packages.

The event included live and silent auctions, tastings from some of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers, and a fashion show featuring garments from Goodwill’s Vintage Clothing Collection. Stacey of Goodwill Huntingg was actually part of the show and she was a sight to see! She is dressed in head-to-toe Vintage from Goodwill of Akron's Vintage Collection.

Forty Akron-area women volunteered to model clothing from the vintage collection and everyone looked great in the items they chose. It was hard to pick a favorite with all the different styles and decades represented!

It's no secret that us bloggers love shopping at the Goodwill stores, but apart from that, we're impressed and inspired by their mission. Goodwill Industries of Akron seeks to give people in need a hand up, not a hand out and in 2010, over 7,500 individuals received a helpful hand up.

A big thank you to Goodwill Industries of Akron for having us!
