Website Spolight: Bill Monk, Flow, Chore Buster

{via}
There's always that uncomfortable moment when you need to ask your roommate to take out the trash or scrub the bathtub. Furthermore, there's probably nothing more uncomfortable than having to ask your roommate for monetary contribution for the electric or grocery bill. Luckily, I live with my sister so there's no such thing as an awkward conversation. A simple "hey, pay me for the gas" is all that's needed. I've come across three websites that will take care of all  your roommate (or husband) worries. Chore Buster, Flow, and Bill Monk are all excellent resources that will surely help you all get and stay organized.

1. Chore Buster.net is an excellent way of organizing chores for the household. My sister set up a schedule for us through this site to help us stay caught up on household chores evenly. It's so easy to use. All you have to do is enter the chores, the required frequency, and names of the people required to complete the chores.  There's even a way to calculate rewards for chores completed. The site will then e-mail you reminders of your required task. Roomie forget to scrub the toilet? No worries, Chore Buster will remind her of her exciting task.

2. Flow is one big shared to-do list online. I use this with my PR and Marketing job. We all share an account and keep track of who needs to do what. You can "follow" a task, create lists, assign deadlines and delegate members to complete an assignment. I really like that there's an iPhone app for this site. I get push notifications sent to my phone with updates and notices. Once you complete a task, simply check it off and everyone will know how productive you are. (If you're missing deadlines, they will also know-so I can't help you there)

3. Bill Monk. Rent is $800, I owe you $400, but you owe me $35 for the gas, but then I bought your dinner for $15 the other night, but then yesterday you picked up a few groceries for $25. Let's settle this. What? This is the story of my life with my sister/roommate. We are forever owing the other money, but then picking up things here and there to where it ends up getting really complicated, really fast. Bill Monk is an incredible tool, we enter each individual item, who paid and how much, how we want to split it plus much more and it figures it all out  with the click of a button. It even tracks library books and displays handy repayment charts. It reminds the person via e-mail how much money they owe someone and vice versa. To sum it up, it's a genius machine.
