August Blogger of the Month

Last month we started a voting session for blogger of the month. Between waiting until the last minute and myself and the winner forgetting about it...things got delayed. So while technically she was the blogger of July, we're introducing her this month!

The competition was a close call between two very lovely blogs. It was a mere two vote difference. Thanks to everyone who voted and keep a look out for the September voting.

AUGUST BLOGGER OF THE MONTH: Oh*Renee Design
Renee is a sweet lady. I've met her a handful of times in real life. She's as cute as her blog makes her out to be. She's crafty. She's fashionable. She understands and believes in vintage. She creates beautifulness from art to design to her photographs to her outfits. Her blog is full of inspiration and positivity. It's impossible to leave her blog without a smile and that's exactly how Renee is. She's a genuine lady.

Instead of a standard interview, I decided to look up "journal topics for elementary school kids". I skimmed the long list and selected a few for her to answer. Her answers are great, but her blog is better!

Describe your blog in ten words or less.
A random mix of life, vintage, style, owls and silliness.

What is your favorite room in your home and why?
My living room. It's the only room that is completely finished...in terms of decorating. And my couch is super cozy. Annnd my husband hung special upside down reading lights from Ikea over the corner of the couch so I can curl up and read at night. Its the best!

What would happen if you could fly whenever you wanted? When would you use this ability?
I would travel the world!!!! I have a strong affiliation with birds, I always have. Something about them really gets to me and I think it's because I want to roam and see the world. So yes. I'd travel. As soon as my husband left for work and be back in time for dinner!

What would happen if everyone wore the same clothes?
I think I would die a little inside. Seriously. I like being an original, which is what started my thrift store shopping love affair. I got tired of picking out something from a store at the mall and then seeing five girls with the same top in a week. Life would be boring if we all dressed the same. I like to compare getting dressed to making a work of art....you never know what colors and patterns will work together and it's always fun!

What do you think the world will be like when you are a grown up?
Oh man, I hope I never grow up. :)


What things do you think are beautiful?
The ocean, true love, words on a page in a good book, the colors turquoise and yellow together, birds flying across the sky in front of me when I'm driving down the street, the perfect song at the perfect moment, wedding ceremonies and a sleeping kitty.

What kind of music do you like?
Ohhhhhhh everything. Seriously. From Ingrid Michaelson and Eisley and Camera Obscura to Van Halen and Bon Jovi to Keith Urban and Sugarland to one Miss Lady Gaga. I love music for all different reasons and find it comforting in a lot of ways.

What do you like most about yourself?
The artistic talents I've been blessed with. They make my life happy. Physically? Hmm...

What makes you laugh?
Myself! I crack myself up all the time. Sometimes people laugh. Sometimes they don't. :)

In ten years...I see myself....because...
In ten years I see myself doing art projects at home with my kids, taking photos and enjoying quiet days with my family. I can't wait to be a momma:)
